O Children of Israel! Call to mind the special favor which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill your covenant with Me as I fulfill My Covenant with you, and fear none but Me. Who bear in mind the certainty that they are to meet their Lord, and that they are to return to Him. Children of Israel! Call to mind the special favor which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all other for My Message. O Children of Israel! Call to mind the special favor which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all others for My Message. Guard strictly your habit of prayers, especially the Middle Prayer; and stand before God in a devout frame of mind. And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, earnestly bring God to mind, and ask for forgiveness for their sins. And who can forgive sins except God. And are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in the wrong they have done. O you who believe! Approach not prayers with a mind befogged, until you can understand all that you say. Nor in a state of ceremonial impurity Except when travelling on the road, until after washing your whole body. If you are ill, or on a journey, or one of you comes from offices of nature, or you have been in contact with women, and you find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands. For God does blot out sins and forgive again and again. They are distracted in mind even in the midst of it, being sincerely for neither one group nor for another whom God leaves straying, never will you find for him the way. When they come to you, they say: "We believe.": But in fact they enter with a mind against Faith, and they go out with the same but God knows fully all that they hide. If their spurning is hard on your mind, yet if you were able to seek a tunnel in the ground or a ladder to the skies and bring them a sign. what good?. If it were God's will, He could gather them together unto true guidance: So be not you among those who are swayed by ignorance and impatience! The leaders of his people said: "Ah! We see you evidently wandering in mind." He said: "O my people! No wandering is there in my mind: on the contrary I am an apostle from the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds! We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw now your rod!":and behold! It swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake! If a suggestion from Satan assail your mind, seek refuge with God, for He hears and knows all things. Call to mind when you were a small band, despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: That you might be grateful. Relate to them the story of Noah. Behold! He said to his people: "O my people, if it be hard on your mind that I should stay with you and commemorate the signs of God, yet I put my trust in God. Get you then an agreement about your plan and among your partners, so your plan be on to you dark and dubious. Then pass your sentence on me, and give me no respite. When fear had passed from the mind of Abraham and the glad tidings had reached him, he began to plead with us for Lot's people. They said: "Truly Joseph and his brother are loved more by our father than we: But we are a goodly body! Really our father is obviously wandering in his mind! So the king said: "Bring you him unto me." But when the messenger came to him, Joseph said: "Go you back to your lord, and ask him, `What is the state of mind of the ladies who cut their hands´? For my Lord is certainly well aware of their snare." They said: "By God, truly you are in your old wandering mind." For Him alone is prayer in Truth: Any others that they call upon besides Him hear them no more than if they were to stretch forth their hands for water to reach their mouths but it reaches them not: For the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but futile wandering in the mind. Remember! Moses said to his people: "Call to mind the favor of God to you when He delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: They set you hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered your sons, and let your women-folk live: therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord." Without adding, "So please God." And call your Lord to mind when you forget, and say, "I hope that my Lord will guide me ever closer even than this to the right road." He went into his garden in a state of mind unjust to his soul: He said, "I deem not that this will ever perish, But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing? So Moses conceived in his mind a sort of fear. Is it not a warning to such men to call to mind how many generations before them We destroyed, in whose haunts they now move? Verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. To your heart and mind, that you may admonish. O men! Call to mind the grace of God unto you! Is there a creator, other than God, to give you sustenance from heaven or earth? There is no god but He: how then are you deluded away from the Truth? And you will see them brought forward to the Penalty, in a humble frame of mind because of their disgrace, and looking with a stealthy glance. And the Believers will say: "Those are indeed in loss, who have given to perdition their own selves and those belonging to them on the Day of Judgment. Behold! Truly the Wrong-doers are in a lasting Penalty!" The Prophet's mind and heart in no way falsified that which he saw. For they said: "What! A man! A Solitary one from among ourselves! Will we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad. Nay, were you to know with certainty of mind, you would beware!
