And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of God, God's name should be celebrated? Whose zeal is in fact to ruin them? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them except in fear. For them there is nothing but disgrace in this world, and in the world to come, an exceeding torment. Or do you say that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Do you know better than God. Ah! Who is more unjust than those who conceal the testimony they have from God. But God is not unmindful of what you do! Have you not Turned your vision to one who disputed with Abraham About his Lord, because God had granted him power? Abraham said: "My Lord is He Who Gives life and death." He said: "I give life and death." Said Abraham: "But it is God that causes the sun to rise from the east: Do you then cause him to rise from the West." Thus was he confounded who in arrogance rejected faith. Nor does God Give guidance to a people unjust. How will God Guide those who reject Faith after they accepted it and bore witness that the Messenger was true and that Clear Signs had come unto them? But God guides not a people unjust. If any, after this, invent a lie and attribute it to God, they are indeed unjust wrong-doers. God is never unjust in the least degree: If there is any good done, He doubles it, and gives from His own presence a great reward. We sent not an apostle, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of God. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto you and asked God's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found God indeed Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. O you who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other, and he among you that turns to them for friendship is of them. Verily God guides not a people unjust. Send not away those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His face. In nothing are you accountable for them, and in nothing are they accountable for you, that you should turn them away, and thus be one of the unjust. Out of what God has produced in abundance in tilth and in cattle, they assigned Him a share: They say, according to their fancies: "This is for God, and this" - for our "partners"! But the share of their" partners "reaches not God, while the share of God reaches their "partners" ! Evil and unjust is their assignment! Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against God or rejects His Signs? For such, their portion appointed must reach them from the Book of decrees: Until, when our messengers of death arrive and take their souls, they say: "Where are the things that you used to invoke besides God." They will reply, "They have left us in the lurch.", And they will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected God. "Because of the deeds which your own hands sent forth; for God is never unjust to His servants: We send down stage by stage in the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe: To the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss. See they not that God, Who created the heavens and the earth, has power to create the like of them anew? Only He has decreed a term appointed, of which there is no doubt, but the unjust refuse to receive it except with ingratitude. He went into his garden in a state of mind unjust to his soul: He said, "I deem not that this will ever perish, How plainly will they see and hear, the Day that they will appear before Us! But the unjust today are in error manifest! It will be said: "This is because of the deeds which your hands sent forth, for verily God is not unjust to His servants. By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of God, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! And when the Word is fulfilled against them the unjust, we will produce from the earth a beast to face them: He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs. Afterwards one of the damsels came back to him, walking bashfully. She said: "My father invites you that he may reward you for having watered our flocks for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear you not: well have you escaped from unjust people." Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to you, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of God is the greatest thing in life without doubt. And God knows the deeds that you do. Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: And none but the unjust reject Our Signs. We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth and the Mountains; but they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: But man undertook it; He was indeed unjust and foolish; Whoever works righteousness benefits his own soul; whoever works evil, it is against his own soul: Nor is your Lord ever unjust in the least to His Servants. Nowise will We be unjust to them: But it is they who have been unjust themselves. Say: "See you? If this teaching be from God, and you reject it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel testifies to its similarity with earlier scripture, and has believed while you are arrogant, how unjust you are! truly, God guides not a people unjust." And before this, was the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy: And this Book confirms it in the Arabic tongue; to admonish the unjust, and as Glad Tidings to those who do right. And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were all most unjust and most insolent transgressors, And they opened the morning, strong in an unjust resolve. O you unjust! Eat you and enjoy yourselves but a little while, for that you are Sinners.
